OUR STORY:
MaYu Rise was born from a place of vulnerability, connection, and courage.
We – Madeneeyah and Yumna – met while both admitted to a mental health clinic, each navigating our own battles with mental illness. In a space meant for healing, we found each other. Two strangers, holding heavy stories, slowly became friends through shared understanding, quiet support, and the kind of honesty that only comes from surviving the hardest parts of yourself.
From that moment on, we’ve walked side by side, not just in our recovery, but in our purpose. We realized how isolating mental health struggles can be, and how badly the world needs spaces that are soft, safe and stigma-free. Spaces where emotions aren’t dismissed, neurodivergence isn’t misunderstood, and healing isn’t treated like weakness.
That is how MaYu Rise began: not just as an organization, but as a promise. A promise to rise, together. To be the voices that understand.
Today, MaYu Rise is our way of giving back the kind of support we once needed. We are here to build a community that makes room for all emotions, all minds, and all stories, especially the ones that has been silenced for to long.
